Maria McDonald, born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, currently resides in Atlanta (Sandy Springs/North Buckhead) where she is a working soprano and pianist. She has a lessons-in-your-home studio and home studio to those in the Atlanta region.

During high school, she began getting involved in community and professional theater. This love of the stage eventually led to performing leading and supporting roles in musicals and operas including Meet Me In St. Louis, Guys and Dolls, The Wizard of Oz, L’Elisir d’amore and H.M.S. Pinafore. Maria has also performed in NATS master classes during her collegiate career and as a soprano soloist in Schubert’s Mass in G Major and The Messiah. Though much of her performing experience is in voice and theater, Maria has been extensively trained in piano and guitar. Maria has trained with Dr. Tamara Watson Harper, Adriana Zabala, Valerie Walters, Leah Partridge, David Watkins, Dr. Natalie de Rosa, and Paul Shaw.

Currently, Maria teaches private piano, voice, and guitar. She also coaches in preparation for college auditions, theater auditions, and musical theater auditions. Students have placed in All-State, received full tuition scholarships to colleges such as University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Alabama, and University of Georgia, and have placed in other music competitions in the southern region. Maria is certified to teach via the Suzuki method for piano.
