Cancellation Policy

Teachers in the Stewart Music Studio are working musicians. This is a valuable trait that enhances the quality of lessons, but there are times when lessons will need to be cancelled to accommodate performance obligations. When planning the lesson schedule, much thought goes into avoiding any potential scheduling conflicts. On the rare occasion a conflict occurs, ample notice will be given to parents/guardians where they will be able to either take a credit on their next invoice or, if time permits within the month, have a make-up lesson.

Any lessons cancelled by the student will not receive a credit nor the opportunity for a make-up lesson. For a better understanding on the reasoning behind this policy, please read the following article.

Make-up Music Lessons from an Economist’s Point of View

It is strongly encouraged that students make a commitment from August through May in order to see progress; however, we understand certain circumstances can prevent that from being an option. Lessons may be terminated at any time; however, no refunds will be given for untaken lessons within a month. If lessons will not be continuing the following month, please let your instructor know by the 15th of the month in order to prevent being billed for the next month.

This policy helps ensure the Stewart Music Studio retains high-quality faculty and keep tuition rates low.
